Actress and Fabletics founder Kate Hudson recently shared her approach to raising her third child, a baby girl, in an interview with AOL. Hudson, already a mother to 15-year-old Ryder and 7-year-old Bingham, expressed a commitment to a genderless upbringing, emphasizing individuality.
“There’s definitely a difference. I think you just raise your kids individually regardless – like a genderless [approach]. We still don’t know what she’s going to identify as. I will say that, right now, she is incredibly feminine in her energy, her sounds, and her way,” Hudson explained.
While enjoying buying clothes for her daughter, Hudson acknowledged the challenges of finding suitable options, noting, “It’s very different from the boys, and it’s really fun to actually want to buy kids’ clothes.” However, she expressed reservations about certain outfits being too over-the-top for her daughter.
Hudson draws inspiration from her own childhood, shaped by growing up with brothers, which she believes contributed to her toughness. Reflecting a growing trend in Hollywood, Hudson joins celebrities like Pink, Angelina Jolie, and Adele in embracing genderless parenting. As Hudson navigates parenthood, she remains dedicated to fostering her daughter’s unique identity while navigating societal expectations.
