Blake Shelton Opens Up About Leaving ‘The Voice’ and Prioritizing Family

After an impressive 12-year stint and nine victories on “The Voice,” Blake Shelton has announced his departure from the popular NBC singing competition following season 23. In an Instagram post, Shelton expressed gratitude for the transformative journey the show provided him. He acknowledged the dedicated team at NBC, including producers, writers, musicians, crew, and catering staff, for their unwavering support.

Shelton’s decision is driven by a desire to prioritize family time, especially with his wife, Gwen Stefani, and her children. After years of extensive travel and work, he looks forward to a simpler life, enjoying quality moments with Stefani, finding joy in everyday activities like watching their favorite shows.

While family remains a priority, Shelton is eager to explore new opportunities in his music career. Acknowledging the evolving landscape of country music, he plans to step back from “The Voice” to focus on creating his next record, aligning with the current music scene.

Apart from music, Shelton is excited about pursuing other ventures, including his game show, “Barmageddon,” co-created with “The Voice” host, Carson Daly. Shelton, content with taking things one step at a time, reflects on the significant impact “The Voice” had on his career. As he bids farewell to the show, Shelton embraces a new chapter filled with family, music, and new adventures.
