Remember Melissa Sue Anderson? Discover What She’s Been Up To

Melissa Sue Anderson, known for her role as Mary Ingalls in “Little House on the Prairie,” began her entertainment career early, landing commercials and TV roles before joining the iconic show at age 11. Born in 1962, the actress had a net worth of $1.5 million as of late 2018, accumulated through her successful acting career.

After leaving “Little House on the Prairie” in its seventh season, Anderson diversified her roles, earning a nomination for the horror film “Happy Birthday to Me” and appearing in shows like “The Equalizer” and “Murder, She Wrote.” She briefly delved into production, becoming an associate producer on a 1990 TV episode.

In the later stages of her career, Anderson took on fewer acting roles, including a part in the 2006 miniseries “10.5 Apocalypse” and an uncredited role in “Veronica Mars” in 2014. She published an autobiography, “The Way I See It: A Look Back at my Life on Little House,” sharing behind-the-scenes stories and insights.

Reports indicate that Anderson shifted her focus to family life after relocating to Montreal in 2002. Despite her successful career, she has mainly embraced the role of a stay-at-home mom, revealing in an interview that one of her most challenging roles was when her character went blind on “Little House on the Prairie.”
