In an interview with Human Events’s Jack Posobiec, Christian veteran Michael Cassidy discussed dismantling the Satanic Temple’s statue of Baphomet at the Iowa State Capitol. Cassidy urged Americans to reconsider their cultural values and reject Satanic influences.
Cassidy shared his mixed responses, noting, “I’ve received both positive and negative feedback. Some anonymous voices have applauded my firm stance against Satanism, recognizing the degradation in our society.” However, he also faced significant backlash, describing the “hate mail from Satanists and their sympathizers” as disturbing.
Cassidy highlighted a message from a father upset that he could no longer show his daughter the statue. He emphasized, “It’s crucial for people to realize the profound impact these icons can have on our society.”
Cassidy concluded with a heartfelt message: “I want people to reject Satan and embrace Jesus Christ. This should be the central message.” He also stressed focusing on children, saying, “We must always focus on children because they are impressionable.”
