Brenda Reid, wife of Harold Reid, the bass singer of The Statler Brothers, passed away on February 29th. Known for her culinary skills and devotion to family, Brenda’s life was marked by love and care. Preceded by her husband and nine siblings, Brenda’s obituary highlighted her dedication to her husband and children.
Harold Reid, founder of The Statler Brothers, had previously passed away on April 24, 2020, battling kidney disease. The Statler Brothers, influential in blending country, folk, and gospel harmonies, left an enduring impact on the musical landscape.
The Oak Ridge Boys, another iconic country group, expressed condolences, acknowledging Brenda’s passing on March 1. The two groups, though sharing a genre and era, had distinct styles and contributions to country music.
The upcoming memorial service for Brenda will be led by Pastor Lee Thomas at Olivet Presbyterian Church on March 3, 2024, with a private interment at Thornrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Olivet Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
Rest in Peace Brenda … Heavens gain … https://t.co/iEyHyPsQvw
